The Spring Lowdown - Part 3 - Rain Rain Go Away

by T W Coombs

With the inevitable weather during spring it was only right that I give you three of the best waterproof jackets around, that are on point in style and functionality. So here goes.

The sun is currently shining as I write this but we all know that this will surely change on the edge of a penny (normally dime but I am English) and it is always worthy of having a waterproof to hand.  But thankfully we have moved away from the lime green cagoule even though some designers think this is still acceptable, yes of course, along with giant yellow feather based jackets, very practical.

Let's start with a classic that can be dressed up or down, this navy Mac (above) from Burtons Menswear, matched with a umbrella can keep you dry when the heavens open, light weight but not as much as some jackets, but wear it open and make it part of your look.

If you are not into a Mac, then let’s keep it shorter with this great hooded jacket from Zara.  With a bomber styling but still with a hood and some nice colour detailing on the toggle cord and inner neck.  It is a casual jacket and has a bit of a retro feel, and with the electric blue shine is something that will make you stand out in the rain.

If you want something a little bit more modern and funky, then try this Japanese inspired Zara windbreaker.  With different zips angled all over, it has some very good mix of ways o wear it.  It fits nicely into the street-wear scene this season and year and can be put over a suit with trainers or even some dark chinos and white sneakers.

Thanks for reading and i’ll be back soon with Summer Essentials as well as on trend destinations for holidays this summer so you know where not to go.
